Jozy Altidore has packed a whole lot into his 17 years. The striker, currently playing within the MLS to the Red Bull New York, was the 17th overall pick inside 2006 MLS draft making it his professional soccer debut in August 2006--while still age 16--and even were score a goal inside the Red Bulls' loss to D.C. United in this past year's Eastern Conference playoffs. With that goal, Altidore, who's known by nicknames "Oatmeal" and "Juice" among teammates, had become the youngest player in MLS history gain a playoff goal. Now Altidore can also add one more impressive achievement to Buy FIFA 19 Coins his resume: EA Sports cover star. Altidore was recently named the top's athlete in the upcoming FIFA 08, making them one in the youngest professional athletes to ever earn that distinction. During a recent phone interview with Altidore, we have his thoughts on game titles, the game of soccer, how David Beckham would modify the MLS, and ways in which he got the nickname "Oatmeal."

GameSpot: I want to begin with your name. Where achieved it come from? That's a unique name.

Jozy Altidore: Which one? Are you discussing my nickname or my actual name?

Altidore's already starred within an Adidas commercial and from now on he's on the top's of a game. Not bad for any 17-year-old.

GS: Well I want to be able to your nickname, but I want to get started with "Jozy" first.
JA: Well actually that it was a coach of mine in the Academy down in Bradenton [Florida], the [soccer] residency program. He couldn't say my whole name and for that reason every day he looked into nicknames to supply me and ultimately he provided me one, Jozy, and he's like, "That's a very good one, right?" And I was like, "Sure. That'll do fine." And since that's been my nickname.

GS: Your real name is Josmer. Am I pronouncing that right?
JA: It is Josmer [pronounced ZHOES-MAIR].

GS: OK. So Jozy isn't too far off. But that's somewhat easier to express.
JA: Yeah, exactly.

GS: And then you mentioned your nicknames. I saw a couple of them on your own bio. One is "Oatmeal" and another is "Juice." Where did those are derived from?
JA: Teammates of mine within the program... They originated that name. They started it down and it's since that time stuck with me.

GS: What may be the significance of "Oatmeal"?
JA: I honestly can't let you know. I don't know where they got it from. But it saddled with me from the time.

GS: Oatmeal. OK. Well everybody's got unusual nicknames, I guess. So you've played FIFA 08. Give us your the thing it what you did within the game and what we thought.
JA: I mean, the sport [is] great. The realism is spectacular. I think that that's an evident step up. I think the game along with the skills that they've put in--it's unbelievable because you can do moves, you realize...like step over, that you'd do inside real game. It just helps to make the game very much more fun to experience. As well because new Be a Pro [mode], it is just a new version with the game [where] you...play to be a character from the game so you do as whatever they would do within FUT 19 Coins this is great. You know, you receive certain camera zooms if you are going in to your goal. And it's really just something that is going to make gamers drink too much because it's going for being a wide range of fun. It's going to get big hit definitely.

GS: I don't know how familiar you happen to be with other EA games. But the understanding of playing one position [as in Be a Pro mode] is one thing they've designed in football games, in American football games, within the past. How do you feel about playing the job when you do not have the ball? Is the experience still fun to suit your needs if you do not have the ball?
JA: Well it's rather a true footballer's mode or maybe a true footballer fan's mode to completely move devoid of the ball trying to find the best spots to find the advantage. So I think it's going to become very challenging, which can be what I think gamers want. They probably found how the past seasons have already been too easy. But in this mode I think it's going to become very challenging then we're planning to see who the true gamers are.

GS: Right. How do you approach playing soccer games? Do you jack up the problem right away?
JA: Yeah, I usually do because I've been playing since I was--I've been playing those games since I was young so I may have learned how to try out and together with the buttons and all sorts of that stuff, so yeah.

GS: What do you look for within a game such as this that makes it feel authentic in your case, that claims, "This is the thing that it feels like to become out there about the pitch and playing?" What type of things come through inside gameplay that say, "This is authentic in my experience?"
JA: Well exactly the obvious things, such as graphics. In the FIFA 08 game they are definitely a intensify. And it is quite real and it appears like you're from the game actually. The fans, the roar with the stadiums, you already know, the authentic look in the goals plus the grass and the little things such as that make game a whole lot of better to own and to experiment with.

GS: What was it like playing as yourself inside the game for your first time?
JA: It became a crazy experience because now, you understand, it is not like, "Look what I just did." It's, "Look what Jozy just did." It's a good deal of fun and it's really great.

GS: How will be your guy? How can be your character?
JA: Oh, he's actually as i am. He's aggressive. He's fast. He's got an incredibly powerful side and he's very energetic and very spot-on to how I am like a player.
GS: I guess the treatment depends on who's playing you also.
JA: Exactly. Yeah, exactly.

GS: Have you experienced a chance to take a look at stats in any way?
JA: No, I haven't. I didn't look in the stats.

GS: It must be something for being your age, obviously quite a young guy, and on the quilt of a computer game.
With three goals and four assists in 2007, Jozy has helped his Red Bull New York team to a 8-7-3 record this coming year.
JA: Oh, it is really an unbelievable feeling and I'm very thankful being part of something in this way. I mean, EA has put a belief inside me and I thank them to the, for giving me the ability to cover among their games. I'm very excited.

GS: If 5yrs ago or eight a long time ago, someone would've told you that you might have been on the coverage, what could you have said excitedly?
JA: I would've told them, "Hey, it really is a funny little dream there. I would like to have that dream be realized." So it's really--many experts have a journey like I said before and I'm just very grateful at this stage.

GS: So this is the first year inside the MLS, correct?
JA: Yeah.

GS: How has your season been going to date?
JA: Well it has been well, you recognize. So far it has been a little tough, you recognize, finding its way back because of being away for the month together with the [2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup]. But ever coming back it's good an extra chance, get yourself a couple games under my belt again, as well as see the guys. But you recognize, I'm finally to where I need being physically and mentally is actually my teammates too. So the season it has been a good one. We've had our rough patches being a team but every good team has that. So we're just likely to look to build for your next game.

GS: Who in your team can be your toughest competition when it comes to games?
JA: Oh, there is absolutely no competition.
GS: There is none.
JA: No competition when it comes to game titles.

GS: What do you like to learn? Do you play things in addition to sports games?
JA: Halo is a superb game. Another good one, let's examine, actually Def Jam [Icon], that you there isn't a bad game.

GS: You guys involve some games using the LA Galaxy springing up and I just need to get your the thing it David Beckham and also the MLS if you expect to experiment with him. We're not certain if he's actually going for being back when you guys discover their whereabouts the next time.
JA: It's very exciting...to the fans and us too. And if he plays it's planning to just be a fantastic night, I'm sure, and it's really going being beneficial, not only for many people but for him at the same time.

GS: Any strategies for someone who's wanting to get better at FIFA 08?
JA: Well you have to become quick, you realize, together with the button tapping. And the gaming is, soccer games I think, in case you move the ball quickly, I think you can be very successful. You'll find lots of open seams and a good deal of shots as well as the shots include the key, rebounds and stuff like be the key to winning.

GS: And it couldn't hurt to obtain the ball to Jozy, right?
JA: Yeah, it couldn't hurt to get that guy.

 GS: Thanks for your time.
